Buckholts Independent School District Description

Buckholts ISD is a rural Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade district. The school serves as one of the main focuses of community activity and pride. Buckholts ISD graduates serve the community as productive citizens.

Buckholts ISD Mission Statement

The Buckholts Independent School District partners with parents and community in seeking academic excellence for each student through a balanced curriculum aligned with quality instruction and assessment of achievement.

 

 

District Goals and Objectives

Goal 1 Improvement of academic achievement

(a) ensure that the TEKS are being taught to each student, (b) ensure that we have vertical alignment for smooth transition between grades and core subjects; (c) provide instruction for knowledge and understanding, not just test taking; (d) ensure that students from Kindergarten through 12th grade receive quality, TEKS-based instruction for science, math or other core subject areas; (e) achieve recognized status by 2007-2008; (f) achieve exemplary status by 2009-2010.

Goal 2 Have a school environment that encourages students, parents, staff and community to

(a) have a professional environment with respect between students and teachers; (b) improve involvement between parents and staff by promoting working together for student success; (c) motivate the students to be life-long learners; (d) reduce/discourage gossip among the staff about students, parents, or staff; (e) recognize student for accomplishments and gain.

Goal 3 Community Involvement

(a) get involved with the community and its people; (b) have an active PTO organization and support its activities with staff members attending at least three meetings during the year.

Goal 4 Curriculum

involve parents, students, and staff in maximizing time on task for instruction

Goal 5 Recruit and retain a great staff that cares about ensuring students are successful

(a) work with salaries and benefits to be competitive in hiring and retaining quality staff; (b) offer professional development for staff members that is focused on meeting the determined needs of our students and staff members; (c) improve staff recognition for outstanding work within the school and community.
